Denmark’s imports of wood pellets fell to a five-month low of 213,806 mt in April, 6% lower than March but 20% higher than a year earlier, according to StatBank Denmark data Thursday.
Total Danish pellet imports in the first four months of 2015 were 932,118 mt, a 2% increase from the corresponding 2014 period.
Latvia nosed ahead as the largest pellet supplier to Denmark this year, delivering 77,469 mt in April, up 58% on the month and 14% higher on-year.
Total Latvian deliveries to Denmark over the first four months of 2015 were 291,153 mt, down from 321,742 mt in the year-earlier period.
Denmark took receipt of 64,876 mt of Estonian pellets in April, up 9% on March and more than tripling the year-earlier tally.
Russian pellet volumes to Denmark in April were 37,708 mt, up 56% on March but 13% lower on-year.
